Resolutions, Workouts, and Podcasts

I know we all make resolutions for the new year, whether we admit it or not. I started going to the gym in November- before the new year, but I was just getting going early on a resolution I made to lose some weight and get into better shape this year. I have at least 4 weddings to attend this year and it was time to get serious. So off to the gym I went. If you know me, you know that exercise is not my favorite thing-is it anybody’s? Well, it probably is. Anyway, I decided that I would listen to the radio and I also can read a book on my phone while on the elliptical. Yay! Then, after talking to Bren of brenhaas.com, I realized I could be listening to podcasts and learning something at the same time. So now I read a book on the elliptical and listen to a podcast while walking on the track. It makes such a difference! I walk longer because I want to keep listening. And, I don’t listen to them unless I’m walking, so it makes me want to keep exercising. Who knew?!

So, what do I listen to? I haven’t been doing it very long, but so far I’ve listen to some from Bren which you can find here. I’ve also been listening to A Way To Garden with Margaret Roach which are here.

Chris VanCleave and Theresa Byington are the voices behind the Rose Chat Radio podcasts. I’m sure there are many more, but I’ve just started looking. Ken Druse also does podcasts and you can find those here and I’m sure there are many more gardening podcasts out there. I’ll keep you posted when I find more I like. In the meantime, just google garden podcasts and find one that you like.

Believe me, it has made me look forward to exercising. I never thought I would be saying that!
